Short answer: usually yes. Here's exactly how it works — and how we handle the whole thing for you.
Collision coverage pays for damage from hitting another car or object — the most common kind of body damage. Comprehensive coverage pays for damage from things outside your control: hail, theft, vandalism, falling objects, or hitting an animal.
If you carry either one, your insurance covers the repair minus your deductible. Your deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket — typically $250, $500, or $1,000 — and your insurer pays the rest.
You don't have to be the middleman between your insurer and the body shop. Here's what we do:
1. We write the estimate and send it to your insurer.
2. We handle the paperwork — the supplements, the photos, the adjuster.
3. We bill your insurer directly. You pay your deductible; they pay the rest.
Bring your claim number or policy number, and we'll handle the rest. You focus on getting your car back — we deal with the insurance company.
If the repair cost approaches the car's actual value, the insurer may declare it a total loss. We'll give you an honest read before you spend a dollar — if repairing doesn't make sense, we'll tell you straight. No shop should push a repair that's bad math for you.
Monsoon season brings hail that dents hoods, roofs, and trunks across the west Valley. Hail falls under comprehensive coverage, and we repair it with paintless dent removal when possible — faster and cheaper than a repaint.
